This artwork took a full year to develop. In my sketchbook, I jotted down "mix kefiyeh and bateekh somehow." Throughout the course of the year, I played with the idea repeatedly until I settled on a design I loved. This design works because it is subtle enough that you can wear it to work, but statement enough that anyone who knows anything about Palestine will recognize the combination of the two powerful symbols of Palestinian resistance.
